Welcome!

Pull up a seat and join the conversation....

Let me introduce myself, I'm Linda Marino. I'm a professional artist. I paint mostly in oils and acrylics, however I occasionally dip my brush in watercolors and will play with pastels. I enjoy painting outdoors on location (en plein air) or in my studio.  I also enjoy teaching art. I work at two different art schools as well as a retirement community teaching students of all different ages. I primarily teach beginner and intermediate students in acrylics and oil painting.

My husband Dean is a chef. His primary job is a production chef at an elite private boarding school. He prepares meals for over 400 students, teachers and administrators per day. These are not your ordinary meals. not your typical school lunches. Because of the pricey yearly tuition, the students and especially the parents have high expectations for quality, nutritious meals and the food service team delivers. These students have several selections to chose from for each meal, they enjoy a weekend omelette bar, salads and homemade soups, baked goods from scratch and international cuisine.

The mission of this blog to become a virtual table. A place where we can gather around, share stories, what we did that day, a recent painting or recipe. Some insights and tips on cooking, creating art , or other stuff that happens in the kitchen or in the art studio. Perhaps we'll share a recent trip or excursion. .... oh  yes.... maybe a restaurant or book review, art show. Basically, whatever starts the dinner table conversation.

Just a little side note, we started this blog a 5 years ago as an assignment for Dean while he was taking a Food Writing Class at college. Since we let that blog laps for such a long time we thought it would be nice to start a fresh new blog. We might pull in some older recipes or artwork but that's the beauty of both - timeless and treasured.

We would love to hear from you in the comments below. Do you have a favorite memory around the dinning room table you would love to share, maybe a favorite recipe or perhaps something you created - a painting or drawing?

Be our guest at our virtual table and we warmly welcome you join in .... buon appetito!
